COMPANY ONBOARDING REVAMP
For confidentiality reasons, no full sample of the course will be provided. Please review the information below to view assets within the course.
OVERVIEW:
Software used: Articulate Storyline (during drafts), Articulate Rise, Vyond, Photoshop, Canva, Adobe Audition, Premiere Pro
CONTEXT: There was no consistent onboarding process for all team members. Each office had their own versions that each failed to share necessary or important information in some way. Team members across different offices would not be aware of certain policies or company offerings, which led to confusion accross the company. We also found that in-person training was no longer becoming feasible; the HR department decided to convert training into an eLearning format for accessibility and increased engagement. While the onboarding process was mostly streamlined, we still left room for nuances of specific locations. 9 onboarding training modules were created for each of the company’s offices.
NEEDS IDENTIFIED:
Convert old powerpoint-driven presentations to a virtual course that would open up accessibility
Increase engagement and information retention for processes and policies.
Streamlining the onboarding process across all company locations (9 locations)
All team members immediately having access to the same information rather it was necessary policies or company offerings / “nice-to-knows”
Freeing up HR admins to focus on their roles rather than having separate training times
Have a “one-stop” resource that is easier to process than reading through the handbook.
ANIMATED VIDEOS
Software Used: Vyond
I converted the existing PowerPoints and SOP's into instructional walkthroughs and animated lessons. In addition, I created engaging videos introducing the company and its values to help increase excitement for new team members.
DESIGN ELEMENTS
Software Used: Photoshop, Vyond
To help with visualization of ideas and to reduce cognitive overload that was occurring during in-person presentations, engaging visuals were created.
surveying pain points
To help identify flaws in the previous onboarding process, we surveyed various team members who recently went through the new hire process as well as long-tenured team members. This helped us identify what questions long-term team members had as they went through their years at the company as well as identifying what new team members still had confusion about.
