Note: I was given permission to show this course by my former company and the content of this training was approved by the legal department.

CONTEXT: This course was my first project as the instructional designer assigned to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training. The company was beginning a DEI initiative and I partnered with our DEI Committee to create an introductory course designed for all employees within the company. As a partner of the DEI committee, I was heavily involved with the research to find resources and information that was relevant for the training. This led me to short films and existing videos on DEI that were available on public resources. The information was deemed appropriate by our legal team as our training was internal and not used for commercial purposes.
NEEDS IDENTIFIED:
Increasing company’s awareness of DEI
Providing an introductory course in order to eventually create hiring training and manager training for DEI
Relieving the burden of Human Resources department to be solely responsibly for giving presentations on DEI
creative FEATURES
Animated Videos
To enhance engagement, I produced animated Vyond videos to discuss the main ideas of DEI rather than having people read a long block of text or sit through a powerpoint. In addition to animating the videos, I provided the voiceovers.
GIFS
To avoid text overload, I replaced key information with images and GIFs in order to create more visual stimulation for the learners.
